               "You have not been forgotten" General Nka tells wounded Soldiers 

 Members of the Cameroon Defense and security Forces recovering from bullet wounds in Bamenda received a token of fifty thousand francs each from the Defense ministry. 

 The commander of the fifth joined military Region in Bamenda, General Nkar Valere, bearer of the message handed them the money at the 5th military hospital and the Police Medical Center Bamenda telling them that they have not been forgotten.

The intention of the visit was to give hope to hospitalised soldiers especially at the time the country is battling with the corona virus pandemic.

Brigadier General Nka Valere of the joint military region and  Brigadier General Ekongwese Divine, commander of the gendarmerie Region, whished the soldiers a quick recovery as they battle with health and encouraged them to strictly observe measures put in place by the state of Cameroon to kick out the novel Corina virus disease.

He visited all wards in the hospital where he listened to the stories on how and  why the soldiers  got to hospital.

At the Police hospital in Bamenda, both generals were shown a new site constructed with a capacity of sixty beds but yet to be equipped.

The beneficiaries alongside their care providers appreciated government's solidarity gesture.

During the mission, the press had the opportunity to observe measures taken by the military with regards to COVID-19.




Military sources told the press that decontaminated solutions are used in disinfecting their working premises plus the use of face masks and hand sanitizers prescribed by the state in fighting the virus.

WOMEN'S DAY OF BOMBING AND RAVAGING FIRE IN BAMENDA  BY MILDRED NDUM WUNG KUM Though hard to comprehend,  the malicious act was conspicuous. Women who turned out to observe the 35th international women's day edition at the Bamenda grandstand on March 8th came under attack. This happened with the explosion of an alleged locally made bomb some thirty metres away from the ceremonial  ground leaving eight people injured. The bomb would later  aggravate to consuming flames. Among victims were four military men, three policemen and one civilian. The injured were immediately rushed to a medical facility. Minutes after, the bombing casualty graduated to a fire outbreak just at the site of the explosion which caught a block of buildings along the Bamenda commercial avenue reducing about nine shops to rubbles.
