COVID-19: ECUDA's SOLIDARITY EXTENDS TO NEIGHOURING VILLAGES BY PASCAL CHENGENG & MILDRED NDUM WUNG  KUM  The Esu Cultural and Development Association ECUDA has rounded off the second phase distribution of COVID-19 kits to the Esu fondom. The solidarity gesture was also extended to  it's neighboring villages and to the administration of Zhoa. The activity was led by the secretary General of  ECUDA Mr Bong Valentine in collaboration with the President. On board to receive the delegation in Esu was the chairman of the COVID19 sensitisation commitee and Fon of Esu - His Royal Highness Fon Kum Achuo Albert II Chi Kazwu together with his notables. In a remark he thanked ECUDA for bringing such an initiative, he further dished a lion share of his appreciation to all the sons and daughters of Esu all over the world for their generous contributions not only to protect their village but neighboring villages in Menchum. PLAN INTERNATIONAL AIDS MEDIA IN REPORTAGE   WITH FOCUS ON COVID-19, CHILD PROTECTION BY MILDRED NDUM WUNG KUM Some 18 journalists refined their skills in the gathering, processing and dissemination of information in the area of COVID-19 reporting and reporting child centered issues. BAMENDA II COUNCIL INSTRUMENTALIZE SPORTS FOR COVID19, ANGLO CRISIS COMBAT BY MILDREDE NDUM WUNG KUM In a three day sporting jamboree, the Bamenda II Council under the patronage of Mayor Chenwi Peter epitomized the fight against coronavirus, a plea for return to normalcy amidst the Anglophone crisis as well as rejuvenated youths. This was accomplished in three sport disciplines; swimming, lawn tennis, and a marathon race. The activity spanned May 22 to 24 with the theme “Youths and Elites; uniting for a common vision and the fight against the COVID19”. The crowning of it all was at the Ayaba Hotel Bamenda with the award of prizes to champions in the various sporting activities. Participants, Councillors in photo session Champions received cash prizes, gold medals and trophies. WHO   GIFTS CAMEROON IN COVID-19  FIGHT BY MILDRED NDUM WUNG KUM The provision comes to optimize the country's resources already being utilised in the fight against coronavirus.WHO representative in Cameroon Dr Phanuel Habimana,  received 4.2 tons of medical equipment at the international airport in Yaounde and then handed these to state officials in Cameroon represented from the  Ministry of Public Health, the Ministry of Justice and the United Nations Dispensary.  This is the subject of a press release issued May 8, by World Health Organisation WHO-Cameroon. The gifts worth 550, 000, 000 FCFA include: -4.2 tons of medical equipment made up of masks, disinfectants, gloves and thermo-flashes. -80,000 tools and communication media and 35 vehicles The equipment are meant for three cities of Cameroon most hit by the virus viz Yaounde,  Douala and Bafoussam.
