BOYO SECURES IT'S RIGHTS AT NW REGIONAL EXECUTIVE COUNCIL ELECTONS

The Boyo Division of the Northwest Region holds the position of questor in the person of Jude Waindim within the regional executive council. The position was secured after delegates in the Regional Assembly especially those from Boyo protested that the  division is not reflected in the executive bureau against the social backing  that all divisions be configured in the executive body.

After an hour of consultation,  readjustment was done wherein Jude Waindim, former Secretary General of the Bamenda City Council was fitted in as questor among the eight executives voted Tuesday December 22, 2020 in Bamenda during the session as of right devoted for the election of Northwest Regional Executive Council Members. The session was chaired by the oldest councillor assisted by the youngest; Fon Angwafo III 95 years old and Wendy Mumah Cheoban 24 years. Also in attendance were the Governor of the Northwest Region, Divisional Officers and ELECAM officers.

The executive council is charged with the development of the region and the implementation of the Special Status Law.

GROWING THREAT AWAKES SECURITY STAKES BY MILDRED NDUM WUNG KUM Cameroon's Northwest region is fortifying stakes in  security prior to growing threats within and out of the region. The recent kidnap of teachers in Bui Division of the region and the massacre of seven children in the neighbouring Southwest Region has put security stakeholders on increased guard. Jolted by these happenings, a security meeting took place at the region's headquarter - Bamenda chaired by Northwest Governor Adolph Lele Lafrique November 3rd 2020.
