WOMANHOOD CELEBRATED: ARCHBISHOP EQUIPS 38 WOMEN GROUPS WITH MACHINES By Mildred Ndum Wung Kum Picture: quipments offered to women Thirty eight women groups received machines from Andrew Fuanya Nkea, Archbishop of Bamenda in a ceremony dubbed "day for women with the Archbishop" organised by the Catholic Church, Bamenda Archdiocese. Thousands of women across different backgrounds and denominations gathered at the Bamenda St Joseph's Metropolitan Cathedral, March 3rd 2021 for Mass during which farm and food processing tools were handed to them. They include oil mills, cassava mills, hoes, cutlasses, fertilisers, spray bottles, boots and trolleys among others. Handing these gifts to the beneficiaries, Archbishop Nkea said the purpose is to assist them in their livelihood adding that his eyes have seen the work and output of women in crop cultivation, food processing and food transformation. SCOLDS CANDIDATES AGAINST INDISCIPLINE By Mildred Ndum Wung Kum The Secretary General of the CPDM Central Committee Jean Nkuete advised contestants in the Northwest Region to be disciplined in the face of a nationwide regional election on Sunday. The senior party official made the appeal during a working session in Bamenda capital of the region where he had an enlarged meeting with candidates vying for seats in the regional house. The meeting at Ayaba Hotel on Thursday 2nd December was also an opportunity for candidates to be presented to the public . “The guiding force of the CPDM should be discipline. I strongly condemn the attitude of some militants who are the architect of dragging their colleges or aliens of the party to court. This compromises the party and forces the party to incur unnecessary expenses in court procedures. WOMEN PEACEBUILDERS VOW TO INTENSIFY MEDIATION  By Mildred Ndum Wung Kum About twenty women ha ve taken a commitment to intensify peacebuilding and mediation. They are inspired by a seminar which empowered them with knowledge on peacebuilding, mediation, conflict analysis and effective communication in times of conflict. The seminar was organised by Mother of Hope Cameroon-MOHCAM with funding from Women Mediators across the Common Wealth.  The over twenty women who attended the seminar are civil soceity leaders under the banner Women Peace Builders Network - WOPEN. The women are worried by the Cameroon Anglophone crisis affecting the Northwest and Southwest Regions of the country where parties on the opposing side are yet to settle on peace talks.
